One of the things I REALLY like about the California Wine Club is the great deals they offer to wine club members that reorder / order other wines from their collection. As an example, I just received 6 bottles of the award-winning Handley Cellars 2007 Anderson Valley Pinot Noir for only $25 a bottle. This amazing wine sells on other wine sites for $36 to $50 a bottle. I even saw it on sale in a wine specialty store in Los Gatos, CA for $85! You just can’t find deals this good on California wine anywhere else. And believe me, I’ve tried.
If you’re not familiar with the legendary 2007 Pinot Noir from Handley Cellars, then allow me to explain what all the hubbub is about. This Pinot Noir is a blend of twelve different vineyards, each contributing an element of complexity, giving it beautiful aromas of cherry, blueberry, violets, lavender, and best of all chocolate. Handley’s estate vineyard Martini clone brightens the wine, while the Dijon clones contribute to its long, smooth, silky finish. The wine is only mildly acidic, making it an excellent accompaniment to your favorite cheese, while the textures complement salmon, lamb or duck.
To prove our point, the 2007 Handley Pinot Noir has been awarded a 93 point ranking in the Ultimate Beverage Challenge (June 2010). It also received five gold medals! Where else can you get such gold medal winning wines for such great price?
